Yellow Hats for Cats
The character Oliver Poons is inspired by author, Lauryn Alyssa Wendus’ real-life rescue-cat, Oliver. The Oliver Poons Children’s Company’s Yellow Hats for Cats campaign raises awareness and donates funds to various animal rescue organizations and causes, and has become a social phenomenon! Pet owners from all over the world have shared photos of their pets adorning yellow hats on social media using #YellowHatsforCats to raise awareness for various animal rescue causes.
This year, pet owners are bringing out the yellow hats once again to raise awareness for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a connective tissue disorder found in cats, dogs, horses, and humans. Many cats with the disease, including Oliver’s new friends, Henry, Toby, Cappy, and Porg, wear clothes to protect their sensitive skin. We were inspired by their stories and wanted these unique cats to join the family of Oliver Poons characters through our book, Oliver Poons and the Cats Who Wear Clothes. A portion of proceeds from the sale of this book will go toward research and funding for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

The campaign may be called Yellow Hats for Cats, but we welcome all pets to wear their yellow hats for a good cause! Follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for lots of social media fun!
